COWGIRL SAINT SERIES
With this series of handcolored etchings, I decided to make some of the cowgirls saints.... under each image, I explain why I chose these particular cowgirls into sainthood.... At some point, I may just canonize a few more......
"Saint Betty Lou, Protector of Self Confidence"

At a young age, Betty Lou intuitively knew
that anything you could do, she could do better.
She never needed advice on how to dress and with her attitude,
she could carry off any style.
Saint Betty Lou protects the self confidence that it takes,
sometimes, just to be yourself.

"Saint Ruth Mix, Protector of the Cowgirl Spirit"

Ruth Mix, cowgirl and movie star, was the daughter of Tom Mix.
There were a few cowboys in her life but Saint Ruth
preferred a fast horse to a fast man any day of the week.
Naturally, she always saddled her own horse.
She epitomizes the Cowgirl Spirit and will protect any woman
who has the courage to be strong of heart.

"Saint Helen Bonham, Protector of Email"

While rodeo cowgirl Helen Bonham corresponded religiously back home,
she would never have imagined that one day letters would travel at the blink of an eye.
She would have ridden cyberspace with the same daring as she did her horse.
Saint Helen protects the sending and receiving of email
and the mystery of it all.

"Saints Ethyle and Juanita Parry,
Protectors of the Sisterhood"

These two cowgirls were not only sisters, they were best friends.
Together, they experienced adventures while riding
in 101 Ranch Wild West Shows.
Saint Ethyle and Saint Juanita protect the closeness
that only women can share with each other.
